From The Hindu, March 6, 1925: Handloom weaving.

Bombay, March 5: With a view to popularise handloom weaving the Government of Bombay have introduced demonstration classes in various parts of the province for the benefit of agriculturists. These classes are taken advantage of by the villagers. The Government are pursuing this policy of encouragement of home industries in view of the fact that a fourth of the clothing needs of the provinces is being manufactured by handloom weavers.
